this blog fell on jan 24, boracay. holiday resort. 6pm.
This is my first time ever in Boracay…heck, it’s my first time on Visayan soil! So when I landed in Kalibo, I could’ve kissed the sweltering hot Visayan asphalt (if I were that dorky).
Bora should never be experienced by just a day. In my 24+
hours here, I haven’t even been in the water! Much of it was spent going round,
studying photography, figuring what to do, and - for this trip – attend a
wedding.
The only consolation was that I had experienced the market,
the culture, and had familiarized myself with the roads, the prices, the food,
and the lifestyle. The people are so friendly and the laid back atmosphere is
so palpable.
Tomorrow will be the day I get wet and sunburned.

After strolling from Station 3 to Station 1 on our first night, Trix and I lost track of time and whereabouts. And we didn’t care… until Trixie’s gradually swelling pinky toe made itself noticeable.
The wedding reception.

reynaldo lapuz is filipino. apart from the accent, the grammar, the name, the looks, and the song, access hollywood says so.
and if this line isn’t telling, then i don’t know what will: "…you give chance to any talent for free of charge."

At - HELLO! - gusto ng lola namin makipag-phone pal! NGE!

Charice finally did her guesting on the Ellen Show last December 19. She was given a standing ovation and repeated hugs from Ellen.
Ellen got goose bumps, and Charice got a new ipod Touch from Ellen after losing hers during the flight. Buti pa sya…
Rumors say she will be guesting again today, Friday. Guess we’ll know for sure soon.
For her guesting, I only have 2 things to say:
1. She’s really really good. But if we’re talking about vocal prowess and performance, we (mah ladies here) think Sarah Geronimo at 14 is still better. This only means Charice will need a little more polishing.
2. More importantly: What’s with the accent?! She didn’t talk that way in the Korean show…
Links!
Video: Part 1: Interview and Charice singing And I am Telling You
Video: Part 2: Charice singing I Will Always Love You.
Video:Or if you prefer, from the Ellen show site.
Video: If you’re still not tired of the song, compare with Sarah Geronimo (with Regine, Kyla and the amazing Sheryn Regis)
News article, Charice wows Ellen in LA, from ABS-CBN news
HA HA HA!
Emotional Charice gets even more emotional after Ellen gives her the new ipod Touch.

My sis, Jhayel, has recommended that I go through what love means in a kids’ point of view.It will make you re-think what love is beyond being like a rosary and a many splendor thing (gimme a break…)
Instead, you will see love beyond arthritis and toilet seats.
Thanks, sistah! Happy Anniv!

I have been hearing a lot of hype about a certain Filipina teenager whom Ellen De Generes would like to guest in her show.
Which brings me to search on who Charice Pempengco is.
Charice is a 14 year old (from Laguna, according to my mom who knows a number of Pempengcos) who placed 3rd in ABS-CBN’s Little Big Star. Her popularity started when Youtuber FalseVoice posted a video of Charice singing Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You which she performed in Little Big Star. Many Youtubers thought it was fake and that she was lip synching. Not long after, videos of her and Bianca Ryan of America’s Got Talent were faced off. These videos paved the way for Ten Songs Productions in Sweden to recognize her and record a number of songs.
Then, a few months later, after False Voice posted a video of Charice singing Dreamgirls’ And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going, one of the biggest TV networks in Korea invited her over to perform the same song on Star King. Her jaw dropping performance in October made a lot of buzz there, and a lot of You tubers have posted her performance on Youtube. This made her even more popular, that E! has featured her with the headline "A Star is Born" On November 14, 2007.
The same video from Korea was featured in the Ellen De Generes show on November 28, 2007 where she featured people who she would want to guest in her show. It has been confirmed that Charice will be guesting this month.
I have seen a number of Charice’s videos on Youtube. Her vocals are outstanding, but it’s not something new… at least in this country. When comparing her performance with Bianca Ryan’s, I have noticed that both girls are equally talented, each having their strengths. However, Charice has a slight edge and I have come to agree with what Cameron Macintosh said when he first discovered Filipino talent; that while others sing from the skin, Filipinos sing from the heart.
This is one of the face off videos with Bianca Ryan. Both girls singing And I’m Telling You. Charice seen singing from Korean TV. I never thought I’d say this, but I think she did upstage Jennifer Hudson, only because Jennifer has a tendency to over sing this song, and that Charice made it effortless.

After the success of Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling went on to write The Tales of Beedle the Bard, the much referenced Book in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Rowling has published only seven books, each book in her own hand writing and illustrated by her. It’s bound in Moroccan leather and this one is the only one purchased. Amazon paid almost USD 4 million for this rare copy!
Amazon is now posting images of the book, including information about the story and reviews. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the video Rowling posted for its new owner and to view samples of illustrations.
