iriver

in my quest for the best mp3 player, i ran across a blog with a take on iriver over the popular ipod:

ipod owners are fools

by the jerk

"i just purchased myself a fine piece of digital audio multimedia hardware that plays the standard slate of music files but also displays images, video and can read text files, all on a color screen (that’s "colour" for you euro-trash tuning in) for less money than the same gigabyted ipod (is that a word? gigabyted?). besides the price, my iriver mp3 player is recognized by any windows operating system without additional drivers and is therefore easier to transfer music directly without the need to go thru the i-tunes middle man. the wide range of mp3 player on the market clearly indicate ipods are inferior products but some brainlessly follow the herd. and to anyone citing ipod’s "ease of use", i have a question: who dresses you in the morning?"

"did i mention it also has a USB host port that allows file transfer to and from another USB device without the use of a PC? oh, and i forgot to mention the wired remote, FM tuner, durable pleather carrying case, line in and voice recording, as well as the AA backup battery pack, all included with my device. and one last thing, did i mention i’m having an excrutiating time urinating without blood in my stream? take that ipod schmucks!"

hey! his words! not mine! he may call himself a jerk, but i appreciate the tip.

you might want to try the iriver official site

One Response to “iriver”

  1. this is for the “jerk” you crossed upon reading. this is for you, jerk!

pardon me but i own an ipod. nope, i don’t have a mac (although i may buy sometime in the future) and i didn’t receive it as a gift from an ‘ignorant relative’ as you call it either. and hell no, i didn’t win it at a company christmas dinner! i am a smart shopper who would not settle for anything less. plain and simple.

fyi, you don’t need to have a mac to be able to use the ipod. any regular pc is fine. the itunes software is so designed to communicate with the ipod for easy editing and sorting of your music in your player. why would i want to directly transfer 5,000 worth of songs without sorting them out first to genre, artists, albums, etc.? you’re bragging about the features of your player. i don’t know what your player does. i couldn’t care less if it can make calls or do text messaging! don’t you realize iriver has to come up with all those add-ons, otherwise their products won’t sell?! it’s not an ipod. that’s all i know of your player.

you said and i quote: “the wide range of mp3 player on the market clearly indicate ipods are inferior products but some brainlessly follow the herd…” that’s baseless! you are making hasty generalization and you know that!

ON THE contrary, the ipod clearly defines superiority above all products because apple invented the concept. the rest are copycats! the reason there is a wide range of mp3 players sprouting around is because they want a piece of the cake the ipod is clearly enjoying. there’s no denying the ipod dominates the mp3 market. they don’t need to advertise the product as heavily as you claim it. the product sells itself.

C’mon now, just because you CAN’T afford an ipod doesn’t mean you can malign the product and call those who bought it stupid or brainless. i’m sure the only reason you bought your iriver is because it is cheaper than the ipod. you said it yourself! and now you’re cursing those who bought an ipod just because you don’t own one!

there is the ipod… and all others. there’s no question apple hit it big with the ipod. it’s not a bandwagon. it’s not media hype. it is the ultimate mp3 player. it is the first and the original. apple revolutionized the way we listen.

no offense to non ipod users. you have your reasons for buying certain products. i made my choice. am just directing this to the smart aleck, know it all who calls himself a jerk. at least you admit you are a jerk. i agree with you in that regard.

*thanks for passing it on. i just had to comment!*
