trixie’s birthday

Mom and Papa had to go to Tuguegarao over the weekend to attend Uncle Miguel’s 50th Wedding Anniversary. They have this fear over any member of the family travelling on their birth week because Papa had a brush with death in the 80’s on his birthday. So they wanted Trix at home. I know how it is to celebrate a birthday without family and friends because that’s what happened on my 25th birthday. It is for this reason why I proposed to stay at home.

Actually, I didn’t have enough hypocrisy left in my system to look happy, charming, and genuinely interested in that whole day affair.

To make things worse, I had to travel 12 hrs by land. That would be cool if I want to be where I was headed to in the first place.

Trix had this smile plastered on her face, whether she noticed it or not. Because being alone with me only meant one thing – freedom!

Unfortunately, due to some circumstances too boring to narrate, my car and Mommy’s car had to go to Tugue. That meant no cruising around. I don’t want to drive Papa’s car. We can always commute, though, but the places to go to are quite limited.

So Trix and I thought we should have a little fun in a different manner: we bought party hats and those curly horns you blow in parties. We had cake and balloons that we blew up ourselves. And then of course, our best friend Bailey’s! Our cousins had a share of the party, except Bailey’s. He’s all ours!

That wasn’t the official birthday party she had. She’s been celebrating her birthday for almost a week, and we still have a bigger celebration when my parents come home. But it was fun being silly that weekend. I told her I wanted that tiara with a "happy birthday" message on it on my day, while our family would be wearing party hats. And I’d like it when I wake up in the morning and everyone would be in his or her PJ’s – hehehehe! So it’s like a party to start the day. The real party with Bailey’s (and maybe even pasta) would be at night before we sleep.

Something different every year. I hate doing the same thing over and over again.

Happy Boitdey, Trixie! You’re still the one I want to pair up with if we get to run the Amazing Race!!
